Coaching for Effective Reading Instruction: CEI's Literacy Coaches
Five school districts are receiving the expertise of literacy coaches as a follow-up service from the 2009 and 2010 summer “Effective Reading Instruction” training event and follow-up. Barksdale Reading Institute, in collaboration with the Center, provided reading strategies and techniques from the BRI “Reading Universe” model to PK-2nd grade teachers from Delta Promise school districts.

Marcia and Becky provide coaching at West Bolivar and Benoit; Deborah and Hattie are serving Leland and West Tallahatchie; and Lula is the literacy coach at A.W. Watson Elementary in Claiborne County.
